New pre-print on RNA-guided nucleases in eukaryotes

Today, we report on the spread of RNA-guided nucleases from prokaryotes to all branches of eukaryotes, including fungi, amoeba, plants, and animals, and their DNA viruses. These nucleases evolved from TnpB nucleases, which are the ancestors of CRISPR systems in bacteria and archaea.
